Saheli Hub Manager
Leading and Mentoring the Saheli Hub Team.
Making it happen since 1991.
Committed to the community and the voluntary sector, I have been delivering sector service design and delivery as a Health & Fitness Professional & Social Entrepreneur for 30 years.
Social Prescribing Link Worker
I have over 15 years of experience working across different Saheli Hub projects with an emphasis on engagement and empowerment – I believe that helping to build the confidence of women and young girls allows them to make life changes that impacts themselves and their families for the better. I am now the Social Prescribing Link Worker working across the Bordesley Green PCN. I am passionate about getting people out and active and being the link that supports them to improve their physical and mental wellbeing by taking part in different indoor/outdoor activities.
Prescribers team member
As a holder of a bachelor’s degree in physical education, I started my career at Saheli in 2014 and with gratitude, I continue to the present.
I am part of the prescribers team, teaching group exercise class, body composition analysis & fitness testing. Also, I develop talking arts classes, painting, and creative crafts. As I love people, I think my purpose in this world is to motivate them. For me, it is indescribable, the self-fulfillment to help others achieve their goals as a healthy life in many ways: Health to the body and mind, social resilience, Grace, and joy! Also, at the same time, while I connect, keep learning, give and help, I am also able to discover the new potential that is inside of me. Thank you, God!
I have been a cycling Instructor for over 12 years, with a background in Children’s Services and Sports Development. I started teaching Bikeability across schools in Birmingham, however, I soon realised I wanted to encourage more women to cycle. Since joining Saheli we have worked together to teach thousands of women to cycle. Our aim is to empower women to take up cycling for social, recreational, or commuting purposes whilst supporting their emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing along the way. Our sessions are open to all abilities, making it fun to learn and easy to start.
Ready, steady, pedal with Saheli!
I have been a member of the Saheli Hub-Team for many years. I am now part of the Saheli Social Prescribing Team as an instructor teaching group exercise classes and social clubs. This includes activities such as crochet and knitting where my main focus is to help people with their mental and physical wellbeing.
My journey with Saheli started back in 2016 when I was a participant at their women only cycling sessions at Ward End Park. I am now a Freelance Cycling Instructor and Ride Leader with Saheli which means I teach women from all backgrounds how to cycle. I then work to upskill them to cycle safely and confidently on the road covering distances of 10 to 26 miles. I have always had a love of the outdoors and have had a particular interest in making otherwise inaccessible spaces accessible through cycling and in the near future, walking.

Knit & crochet instructor
I’ve been teaching for about three years, I started as a participant then I was offered the role as a knitting and crochet instructor.
I think it’s so important for women to get out and join in the activities we have organised for them. For a lot of women it’s a change of scenery, which is very good for their well being.
We deal with a lot of women that suffer from anxiety and depression. I feel it’s important these women come to our services, and teach them new skills.
For me personally it is a sense of achievement teaching these women the skill that I can offer them.
I have been working with Saheli for the last 3 years. I enjoy connecting and helping people achieve their goals and I believe that everyone has great potential. It doesn’t matter what age, race or religion, everyone deserves the chance to get fit and healthy whilst having fun.
Gardening and Natures Crafts Instructor
I am passionate about growing food in the city and reconnecting people to nature. I have over 15 years of experience working in community settings on a wide range of creative environmental projects.
I run Wild and Free Forest School for families and Handsworth Park Community Garden, where I deliver weekly women’s sessions as part of Saheli Hub’s social prescribing program, in gardening, herbs and nature’s crafts.
